We had a pretty good Christmas. Christmas Eve, we had our family get together. There were about 23 in my little apartment. We had lots of food, played mafia, and had a gift exchange. We decided to just have finger foods since everyone would be having a big dinner the next day. So we ended up with ham sandwiches, chips/dip, cracker/cheese, cheeseball, pickle wraps, pies, and of course, candy. It got a bit noisy but I didn't mind. We had a lot of fun. I wish the rest of the family could have been here with us. Maybe some year that will happen.
Christmas day we stayed home. I had just gotten up when Junior decided it was time to open gifts (he's as bad as the kids). He got me an electric roaster, crockpot, knife block, socks, eyeore pjs, and some perfume. I got him waders, gun cleaning kit, madden '12, '13, call of duty 4, and lots of cologne (not that I thought he stunk but he was saying that he needed some more). We had my mom, sister/her husband, and brother here for brunch. I made biscuits/gravy, scrambled eggs, and pigs in a blanket. We played apples to apples between brunch and dinner. My brother Michael and his wife came and joined us. I think Junior won and Michael wanted a recount. HAHA! We fixed ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, lime jello, orange jello, fruit salad, pies, cheesecake, and of course candy. Dominos was our next game. We played chicken. By the end of the night I was pretty whipped. I was very happy to get in my jammies (my new eyeore ones, of course) and climb into bed.
New Years Eve we were at my brother Nathan and his wife Chrissys house. We ate some MORE junk food. They played the wii and caroms. Then we watched the ball drop and pulled taffy. It was another fun night. So I would say that we had a good holiday season.
2012 had its ups and downs but don't every year? Earlier in the year we lost a wonderful lady. But we also found out that we were going to be parents again to another baby boy. I am looking forward to a new year. I can't wait til our little guy is here and we can introduce him to the world.
I pray everyone has a great year and remember you're the one who can make it good.
God Bless,
Larry, Rachelle, and baby Dalton.
good times with the family as always. i love all my family.
