The most wonderful time of the year.

Well it's almost that time of year again. This is the first year in two years that we have decorated and I have been so excited. Two years ago we spent the holidays at the hospital. Last year I didn't feel like celebrating. This year I wanted to decorate in October. I have so much to look forward to in the new year. Yes, I still miss Colton and think of him everyday and wish he was still here but I know he wouldn't want us to live in the past, instead he would want us to move forward.

So this year we went and got our tree and put up lights up on just about every doorway and window in the living room and dining room. Surprisingly I am almost done shopping. I usually wait till the last minute but not this year.

As you're caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, lets not forget the true meaning of Christmas. It sure would be nice if more parents would teach their kids about God and the real Christmas story as they do about Santa Claus. Don't get me wrong, I will take my son to sit on santas lap but at the same time, I will teach him the true meaning of Christmas.

Remember to say Merry CHRISTmas, not happy holidays or merry xmas. It's Christmas, always has been and always will be.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and God bless.

  1. To Wyatt Santa Claus is a "pretend Christmas guy" (he really got the concept of "pretend guy" with all the Halloween silliness). And I like that. We can enjoy Santa if he chooses (he is NOT interested in seeing him this year). He is just a fun "pretend" part. And we teach Jesus as real, the reason.
I don't ever want him to one day say "Well if the Santa Claus stuff was never true, is the Jesus stuff?"
