"The Shattuck Reunion 2013"

Another reunion year has come and gone. I truly believe that this was the most fun reunion we have had. I'm not sure why. Maybe it was because I had my baby to show off or maybe it was because my sister from Calfornia was here this year Or it could be because I associated more. Well whatever the reason may be, I hope every year is like this one.

We arrived at the campground Friday evening and as we were setting up Abby came over and told us that "Aunt Nancy, her husband, and Joy were here. It didn't surprise me much because they had come other years and I always love seeing them but then she said, "Aunt Rhonda was here". Which did surprise me (she lives in California and hasn't been to the reunion in years). All of my siblings were together for the first time in over 20 years.

Saturday was a full day of basketball, horseshoes, and volleyball. Saturday night was the adult's time to ride in the redneck limo. It was such a blast. Then we went and sat around the bonfire. It was so much fun visiting and laughing with the cousins. Not to mention the "maybe" four hours of sleep most of us got that night.

Sunday morning we gathered in the church for a time of worship. Everyone that sang did a great job. I missed most of the message because of a certain little boy who did not want to sit still and be quiet. Sunday afternoon we just relaxed and visited. It was nice not having a real full day Sunday. Sunday evening they had a sing-a-long in the church. I enjoy listening to everyone sing. They all did a great job. Sunday night was another long night, visiting and laughing.

Monday was the real reunion. The big family softball game was in the morning, dinner at noon, the family meeting (congrats to Janiece Cooper for becoming our next reunion president), and the big family auction. We sang happy birthday to Aunt Myrtle for turning 90.

Then it was time to say our goodbyes and head home. That's always the worst part of the weekend. Well I hope you all have enjoyed this little breakdown of the weekend. Can't wait until next year.
